Our History The Founders Insurance Group, Inc. was formed in the spring of 1999, but the history of our proud agency dates back many decades. In the summer of 1998 we started with the vision that is reflected in our Mission Statement as the core of our commitment to what the Founders Insurance Group would become. Now several years later, we are still as committed to our Mission Statement as we were back in the 1998. In the evolution of who we are today, several great agencies with rich traditions of their own have joined our company and helped us continue on the path of success. Here is a brief description of who some of them are and the communities they represent:



Founded in 1874 in Lakeville Connecticut, Wagner McNeil remains today as our Lakeville location as well as the home of our elite Platinum Accounts Unit. Like all of the Founders Insurance Group offices, this office remains committed to the support of many local community endeavors. This office also houses Bill Willis, a Partner in the Founders Insurance Group and member of the community for over twenty five years.

	Founded in 1991 by Dennis Dressel and Frank Buonocore in Torrington Connecticut. Today this newly expanded office serves as the "Home Office" location of the Founders Insurance Group. Dennis Dressel and Frank Buonocore as well as Chris Garlasco, all Partners in the Founders Insurance Group, continue the tradition of community support as well as the strong commitment to thousands of area famililes.
Founded in 1909, The Sharon Insurance Agency was merged into our Lakeville location in 2001. The Founders Insurance Group maintains strong local ties with the town as well as charitable support for many local organizations.
	For a quarter century, New England Insurance provided comprehensive insurance protection for Cheshire area residents and business owners. Since joining the Founders Insurance Group in 2004, that tradition has continued and remains strong.
Formerly located in Milford Connecticut, Mike Gagnon and Gagnon Insurance Services joined the Founders Insurance Group in 1999. Recognized as a leader in coverage for fuel oil dealers, the agency now located in Orange, also specializes in large multifaceted businesses.
	Founded in 1907, Chamberlin Insurance joined the Founders Insurance Group in 2005. Part of the Chamberlin family for generations, the agency formerly based in West Haven is now part of our Orange Connecticut location. Roger Chamberlin continues to carry on the fine tradition that began at the beginning of the last century.
Founded in 1990 by Nancy Rickert, one of the few women to own an insurance agency in Connecticut. In 2005, this successful, customer oriented Group Benefits firm joined the Founders Insurance Group. Today, the department provides customized solutions and dedicated service to our clients.
